In recent years, the real estate industry of China is rapid developed. As an essential heavy machinery equipment in the construction industry, the tower crane is widely used. But due to the tower crane's structure and working environment, tower crane accidents occur occasionally, therefore, the construction industry and regulatory authorities should pay enough attention to it.Safety accidents of tower crane is mainly divided into three parts: security incidents caused by tower crane parameters, collision accidents between tower cranes and buildings, and collision accidents among tower cranes. The paper mainly designs a set of collision algorithms to detect the risk of collision accidents that may occur on the tower crane. The collision risk between tower crane and low environmental obstacles, high environmental obstacles is discussed in detail, the low environmental anti-collision algorithm and high environmental anti-collision algorithm are designed. The risk of 7 kinds of collision accidents between tower cranes is emphatically discussed, then three classes of anti-collision algorithms are designed. The C language program consist of low environmental anti-collision algorithm, high environmental anti-collision algorithm and anti-collision algorithms between tower cranes is written, and the anti-collision software module in the safety monitoring system of tower crane is implemented. Tests for the risk of probable collisions are taken by the tower crane safety monitoring system, and results show that the tower crane anti-collision algorithms designed can correctly monitor collision risk of tower crane, and give early warning and alarm signal, then ensure the operation safety of the tower crane system.
