| Progress management is an important part of project management, which is not only related to the project duration, but also the project cost, quality, safety and other aspects. At present, because of the extensive mode of management or the lack of effective theory and technology application, many construction companies do not attach importance to the schedule management seriously, which cause giant increase in cost in order to finish on time, and do not guarantee the quality of project, the high frequency of accidents, and also the delay of project. This not only leading to the increase of management cost, but also the reputation of the construction companies. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out the effective management of engineering projects,which will ensure the project be finished on time.Project management technology, which is represented by network planning technology, is produced in the 1950s. With the development of computer and network technology, network planning technology has developed rapidly in recent decades, and has been widely used in engineering construction practice. Network planning technology has become an important part of project schedule management, which optimize the project schedule management, and improve the project management level.This paper takes Xuchang KG new town construction project as an example. To do a research on the project schedule management of KG new town in the view of the general construction contract firms, using the relevant project schedule management theory from operational research, and combining the characteristics of the project. Firstly, this paper introduces the status and existing problems of project schedule management and control, and analyzes the reasons of these problems, expounds the procedures and methods of KG project, and makes use of key line method to compile the project schedule. Therefore, the research of this paper is practically significant,and is valuable to be referred by the similar engineering project’s progress management. |
