The mechanical manufacturing industry have already achieved safety management improvement to a new level,but the accident is still difficult to avoid large.At present,the mechanical manufacturing standardization system and HSE management system are used to guide enterprise safety management.These two systems effect integrated for the current safety management for mechanical manufacturing enterprise,but the above management methods can not fully adapt to the manufacturing site preventive management issues.Therefore,it need to introduce a more scientific method for safety management of mechanical manufacturing.This paper combined six sigma theory with traditional safety management to make it implement on aerial working platform manufacturing enterprise.FTA with AHP model is utilized to establish a contribution capacity model.This model is used to analysis the fire and explosion accident,lifting injuries and occupational poisoning risk,respectively.Through the DMAIC process,the demand of staff is defined as the "customer".The contribution capacity model is used to analysis the basic events probability data to make the priority improvement for the high level contribution ones.Therefore,it will reduce the one million defects of opportunity(DPMO)in the aerial working platform production process and continuously improve and control the safety level.Finally an aerial working platform manufacturing enterprise is chosen to be an example.According to the DMAIC process,the accident records of the enterprise from 2008 to 2014 are collected,the classification is finalized,and the result can lead the improvement objectives.The probability data of basic events is investigated during 20 weeks,which is the root cause of the accidents.It is used to calculate the enterprise safety level.The basic event contribution model is built to analyze the probability and highlight the top ten basic events which is to be improved and controlled.After controlled those ten basic events,the enterprise safety level could be improved.The calculated safety level result rise from 3.4 sigma to 4.2 sigma.It can be seen that the six sigma theory application of safety management in the aerial working platform manufacturing enterprises can significantly reduce the probability of the accident.In parallel,it is helpful to make more efficient for safety improvement and makes a significant contribution in preventing the accident.
