As the computer software engineering develops continuously, Building Information Modeling (hereinafter, BIM) has gradually become a hot subject in the architectural design. Because space dimensions are only a portion of building electrical design, the existing BIM software mainly simulates the space, place and dimensions of buildings, which is far from enough in terms of information simulation accuracy. Design, however, focuses on electrical component parameter, function, logic interactions and professional requirements for safe use of electricity. The paper mainly analyzes the necessary information model, the way of model establishment and functions of models mainly from electrical characteristics of buildings, and conducts a study on the information models on three different levels of information requirements. The main contents include information implementation of electrical equipment & buildings in relative location, power supply relations & categorizing between electrical equipment and simulating function realization in electric equipment operation. The paper also proposes solutions to various requirements by the information models from building electricity and architectural structure, combining software features.
