The Chu culture is famous for the spring and Autumn Period in China, which is the mater ial culture and spiritual culture. Chu in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River, began a series o f expansion in the middle of the spring and Autumn Period Chu conquest, at the same time, with d istinctive local features and romantic Chu culture is also booming development, become a kind o f culture and the culture of the Central Plains as an equal. The people of Chu before and after eig ht hundred years, to create a rich, brilliant material, cultural achievements.Today, the profound Chu culture still has the value and significance of the times.The upper reaches of Xinyang located in the south of Henan, Huaihe, bordering Hubei , Anhui. The history of Xinyang region by Chu dominated for 400 years. The shape and the same p eriod unearthed tombs unearthedfrom the Xinyang area of the cultural relics of view, the Xinyang ar ea has been incorporated into the system of Chu culture from the spring and Autumn period, after the Chu culture and the native culture of Xinyang, the development of mutual absorption. Chu cult ural heritage did not stop with Chu perish, until today the Chu culturein Xinyang this old Chu is stil 1 quite profound.Xinyang area is located in the upper reaches of Huaihe, the mountainous territory, rich i n water resources, the forest coverage rate is very high. Superior natural, geographical environment , provide a good growth condition for the diversification of agricultural products. Xinyang area nativ e species, natural green, in today’s people pay more attention to the food safety of the environment , the Xinyang native has considerable potential for consumption.However, the Xinyang native has en countered difficulties in the promotion, visibility is low, the lack of brand effectproblem.This paper mainly discussed the application of the symbol in Chu culture in Xinyang spe cialty packaging design,the first chapter discusses the relationship between design and brand effect , and put forward the brand must have the cultural connotation of the supporting point of view. Th e second chapter expounds the main manifestation of Chu culture, and discusses the concept and si gnificance of the field of Chu culture symbol from the symbol. The fourth chapter the status quo o f the development of packaging design of the products of Xinyang were studied through field inve stigation, and analyzes the possibility and feasibility of Chu culture symbol and belief of nativepack aging design combined with the research, the main form of Chu culture, and the design language a nd designeffective form to be refined. The fifth chapter -- "packaging design" Xinyang rice wine te n experimental design wasused in case. Clear concept and design positioning design, from the start t o create a cultural atmosphere for product design. The final conclusion, the use of the symbol in Chu culture is a feasible attempt to promote Xinyangspecialty packaging design level, to enhance th e product culture, brand effect, and can promote the traditional culture to a certain extent.
