The Research Of The Commercial Buildings Inlarge-scale Residential Community In The Surburbs Of Shanghai

As the development of economy and growth of population in recent years, the citysize of Shanghai has expanded to suburb and the trends of large-size and suburbanization of residential community also became more obvious. Commercialbuildings, which are in the residential community, also develop in the meantime, andthey gradually became one of the dominant forms of commercial development inShanghai.Limited by area and traffic, residents in suburban large-scale residentialcommunity rely on community commerce to do their daily shopping. Along withpeople’s living standards improving and consumption patterns changing, communitycommercial service is becoming more integrative. Residents’ recreation andentertainment are required to be conducted in the community. So the planning andreasonable design of suburban large-scale residential community affect residents’living standards and quality of community directly because of the specificity itself.The main purpose of this research refers to investigating and studying commercialbuildings in the large-scale residential community, providing theoretical reasons forplanning and design of this kind of buildings.This thesis first presents the research background of the subject, conceptdefinition, literature review, research purpose and significance, and research method.Then the thesis reviews the theory study and practice of commercial buildings in thelarge-scale residential community in China and abroad, which lays the foundation ofresearch followed by. The second part of thesis analyzes the planning and design ofcommercial buildings in the large-scale residential community on the basis of buildingfunction, commercial activity and building layout, then concludes characteristics andprinciples of the design from certain aspects such as site planning, appearancemodeling and spatial form. In order to provide factual basis for the research above, thethesis analyzes the design features and problems of Gucun large-scale residentialcommunity in Shanghai suburb, which is chosen as the spot for field survey. The lastpart of the thesis aims to provide some references and experience for the design ofcommercial buildings in the large-scale residential community thorough author’spractical experience in some real projects.
