The Development And Application Research About New Urbanism

In the 80's 20 centuries, the New Urbanism movement has risen which created and reconstructed town neighbored community in the United States. As we all known, the New Urbanism is the introspection to sprawling suburbs of 50 years in United States. It tried hard to make each part of the modern life become a whole again making it compact, pedestrian-friendly, and mixed-use neighbored community in one. Also the theory and practice of New Urbanism influenced the urban construction of the United States even to western nations in the fixed level, which become the hot spot of research gradually. On the other hand, the New Urbanism can be considered as one kind of practice in the domain of Urban design and which is the starting point to solve the complicated society issue. And it was pushed on to the practice domain in order to get further development of resident model. As far as our country is concerned, it provides profitable reference and experience about residential community construction in suburbs.Firstly, not only theory frame and the practice achievements, but also the community organization theories of the New Urbanism are introduced. And the particularity and cause of De-Urbanization of residence.Secondly, current suburb residences of our country are sorted in this paper, including the Industry Park-attached Residence, The Main City -attached Residence, The Residence for Demolition, The Villa Residence and The New Urbanism Community in suburbs etc. Furthermore, characteristic of each type and existed question are analyzed. Moreover, the redeeming feature of New Urbanism to residential community in Suburb in our country is analyzed from Urbanization and Anti-urbanization, Diffusion and Centralize, Magnetic Force and Anti-magnetic Force, Sprawling Suburbs and Smart Growth etc.What's more, several constructive suggestions about the organization of residential community in suburbs are proposed in this paper.
