With long time development during Chinese history,the Jin Style Furniture impress people with a number of classic artworks.Kang and Kang-based Furniture,as an important part of Jin Style Furniture,include the brief shapes of Ming Dynasty as well as the special declaration of Qing Dynasty.Also,due to the physical environment,custom and history in Shanxi,make the Kang-based furniture different with others.As a significant type of the Jin Style Furniture,Kang-Based furniture exhibits the people's spirit,culture,and wisdom in Shanxi.From Kang-based furniture to Jin style furniture,from Jin style furniture to Chinese traditional furniture,the research and exploration of them is the continuation and development of traditional culture and value of China.By using research,investment,comprehensive analysis and other methodologies,this paper briefly introduces the layout,furnishings,and Kang of the traditional dwellings in Shanxi.It also focuses on the development of Kang-based furniture and its distinct shape.Moreover,it makes the discussion in vast details about the type,material,shape,and decoration of Kang-based furniture with a number of hand drawings.From Liji village in Shanxi Pingyao,this paper brings the real cases to figure out the connotative meaning of Kang-based furniture in Shanxi and compare this traditional furniture style with other types of style in the north China.The characteristics of Kang-based furniture can be classified into three points.1)Various of functions,2)folded structure and a number of hidden safes and 3)unadorned and antique decoration style(before Ming Dynasty),including Chinese ancient minority culture such as Liao,Yuan,Jin Dynasty.The Kang-based furniture in traditional dwellings in Shanxi,make the perfect balance on the changeable shapes and the multiple functions.In addition that,with sculpture,bronze and lacquer especially as the decoration of Kang-based furniture,the old-school craftsmen,and artists in Shanxi,show their amazing skills and original intelligence.
