The Study And Design Of University Student Dormitory Mattress

This thesis was based on the service conditions of university student mattress from an ergonomic perspective. The influence of existing materials of the mattress on prone position comfort was analyzed by pressure distribution experiments and subjective evaluation method.We do further research on palm fiber mattress which is the most comfortable of all, and find the factors and laws of prone position comfort effected by palm fiber mattree structure and materials. According to the survey and experimental results, a reasonable design plan is proposed.The research concludes as follows:(1) Wadding mattress ,sponge mattress and palm fiber mattress are three common mattress in university dormitory now. The pressrue distribution and comfort when the human body in three mattress are different. Plam fiber mattress is the most comfortable, then sponge mattress, then wadding mattress.(2) Material properties affect the comfort of palm fiber mattress.With the sponge thickness increases, the body pressure distribution index decreases, softness and flexibility of the sponge increases,and overall comfort increases.The overall comfort of latex foam is higner than the same thickness ordinary sponge. Latex foam of 3cm and 5cm has the strongest overall comfort while lying on back,and latex foam of 3cm is the most comfortable.(3) The thickness of core layer has little effect on palm fiber mattress. The core layer of 2.5cm and 4cm in overall comfort is almost no difference.(4) There was a significant correlation among softness, flexibility and overall comfort of mattress. The overall comfort has positive correlation with humen body local comfort such as back, waist and hips. The correlation is significant between hips comfort and overall comfort while lying on back, and between shoulder comfort and overall comfort while lying on side.
