In view of the frequent occurrence of winter sea ice disasters in the Bohai Sea and the northern Yellow Sea,and the relative backwardness of sea ice monitoring means, satellite remote sensing technology can be used as an advanced operational monitoring means of sea ice with its advantages of wide coverage, dynamic and real-time.According to the requirement of operation, the sea ice monitoring in Yellow sea and Bohai sea should have the characteristics of real-time,high efficiency, full automation and process visualization.MODIS data has the characteristics of free access, moderate spatial resolution, high temporal resolution and high spectral resolution, and it is a rare data resource to meet the high efficiency and real-time requirements of sea ice monitoring. In recent years,China has made some achievements in the study of sea ice monitoring with MODIS data, but there are also shortcomings. At present, the MODIS data processing and sea ice information extraction are relatively independent. There are problems of semi-automation,poor real-time performance and invisible display of the pre-existing sea ice operational monitoring system. Therefore, the study of a set of operational monitoring platform of sea ice in Yellow sea and Bohai sea, which integrates MODIS data processing, sea ice information extraction, and product output,is a problem that needs to be solved right now.The research topic of this paper is the use of satellite remote sensing technology to build a fully automatic and visual platform model of MODIS data processing. The purpose is using the platform model to carry out the monitoring and forecasting of sea ice in the Yellow Sea and the Bohai Sea in winter. The basic idea is to build the platform model with the integrated technology of remote sensing and GIS.On the basis of this platform model, the sea ice monitoring platform of the Yellow Sea and the Bohai Sea is developed to deal with MODIS data, extract sea ice information, and carry out corresponding product output to achieve real-time,full automation and visualization of sea ice monitoring. Therefore, the paper is divided into three areas: the construction of the platform model with the integration of remote sensing and GIS,the development of the Sea ice monitoring platform and the research and integration of all models in the sea ice monitoring process. The specific research content is as follows.(1)The model of sea ice monitoring platform is constructed based on the integrated technology of remote sensing and GIS.The image data processing and display process are studied with COM technology,C#,IDL and ArcGIS Engine.IDL is used as the imaging data processing engine.ArcGIS Engine completes image display and thematic mapping and so on.(2)According to the platform model of the integrated remote sensing and GIS,the data flow and functional hierarchy of the sea ice monitoring platform are studied, the platform function module is determined and the main interface of the platform is given.(3)It is important to study algorithm models used in the sea ice monitoring platform from MODIS data processing, sea ice information inversion to product output, like multi-band threshold algorithm of cloud detection, the single-channel algorithm of intensity inversion, the split window algorithm of temperature inversion, and so on.These models are integrated into the sea ice monitoring platform, and the image display and product output results are given in each process. In this process, the multi-band threshold cloud detection algorithm is improved, which is suitable for cloud detection in the Yellow Sea and the Bohai sea.The paper starts from the actual demand of sea ice operational monitoring in the Yellow Sea and the Bohai sea and researches the sea ice satellite remote sensing monitoring platform model based on the MODIS data. It's a good way to meet efficiency, full automation and visualization, reduce human intervention, and save a lot of human resources. At the same time, this paper puts forward the integrated platform model of remote sensing and GIS,which integrates MODIS data processing, sea ice information inversion and product output. It also provides a new idea for the application of satellite remote sensing technology in other fields.
