The Bohai Sea and the Northern Huanghai Sea in China is the frozen sea at the lowest latitude of the Northern Hemisphere. Icing phenomenon occurs indifferent degrees every winter in our country. Sea ice of China belongs to annual ice. Damage caused by the sea ice depends on the change of temperature that year. According to statistics, sea icing disasters of the Bohai Sea and the Northern Huanghai Sea are becoming more and more frequently. In 1969, the Bohai Sea went through a rare occurrence of heavy icing. The edge of drift ice stretched near the Bohai Strait. Harbors like Tanggu, Qinhuangdao, Huludao, Yingkou and Longkou, etc. were jammed by the sea ice and sea ships were blocked, paralyzing the Bohai Sea Transportation, which became the most serious sea ice disaster ever recorded in China. With the increase in maritime activities, hazards and threats from the winter sea ice are increasing. Therefore, we must observe and study the change of the sea ice within the entire Liaodong Bay in order to reduce or mitigate the disaster of the sea ice disaster.Sea ice monitoring using satellite remote sensing technology is a new field in need of development and improvement. With the development of science and technology, remote sensing image processing technology better, which promotes the use of remote sensing image processing software. On the basis of a large number of domestic and foreign documents on remote sensing image processing of sea ice, analyzed the images of sea ice at this stage the basic principles of detection, and monitoring of the classification of remote sensing platforms. With the use of satellite image processing software, according to images data of NOAA series of meteorological satellites captured by Meteorological satellite, analyzed the current Liaodong Bay of Bohai Sea ice distribution and distribution. By analyzing the satellite image data about the Bohai Sea in January and February from the year 2006 to 2010, this paper summarizes the area and distribution of sea ice during the severe icing period and the formation of sea ice characteristics in the different weather conditions. By analysis, the author summarizes the rules for the occurence of sea ice within the Liaodong Bay, which has an effect on the prediction and monitoring of the sea ice disaster.
