There are a lot of kinds of meteorological disasters in our country, which occur frequently, and cause heavy losses. Many experts and scholars at home and abroad have carried out research work on meteorological disaster risk zoning. In recent years,GIS develop rapidly, which provides the technical support for the regional meteorological disaster risk assessment. This paper researches on evaluation of regional meteorological disaster risk according to the theory of meteorological disaster risk assessment methods,GIS technology and mathematical and statistical analysis. In this paper, the author takes the city of Dongying in Shandong Province as the study area.Combined with the meteorological disaster risk evaluation theory and the actual situation of Dongying, build the risk evaluation model of lightning, hail, strong winds, torrential rain and flood disaster. And then spatialize the population density and the GDP data.Combined with the technology of GIS and the method of weighted comprehensive evaluation, analy the risk, vulnerability, sensitivity and capacity of disaster prevention and mitigation of meteorological disaster risk in Dongying City. After that draw the distribution map of risk zoning of grade of the lightning, hail, strong winds, torrential rain and flood disaster in Dongying. And on this basis, overlay analysis and draw the distribution map of comprehensive meteorological disaster risk zoning grade of Dongying. The research results show that: Meteorological disasters occurred in Guangrao county the most likely. However,it is most unlikely ever to come out in Lijin. The conclusion in this study can better reflect the future possibility of the lightning, hail, strong winds, torrential rain and flood disaster. The conclusion can provide theoretical basis for the decision for the relevant departments.
