Education is one of the primary tasks of the museum.Nowadays,with rapid development of national economy and improvement of living standards,people start to pay attention to enriching spiritual civilization life and improving cultural quality.Hence,the science popularization education becomes more important.At present,most museums in China are comprehensive museums about history and culture.They have advantages of culture-oriented and comprehensive contents and disadvantages of lack of exhibition about natural science popularization.As the present museums cannot meet people's demands in this aspect,the museum of natural history is of irreplaceable functions and advantages.Chongqing Museum of Natural History is the second largest natural museum in China and obtained qualification of Grade I Museum on Jan.2017.The museum is characterized with long history,abundant resources about science popularization and adequate and ordered contents.It has received over 3 million people since its reopening in 2016 and has played an important role in science popularization education.Under this circumstance,it is vital to know how to enhance the ability of Chongqing Museum of Natural History in science popularization education to agree with the overall development of museum development.However,there has been no research on the investigation of science popularization education of Chongqing Museum of Natural History yet.The author has practiced in Chongqing Museum of Natural History since Dec.2015 till now.The author has participated in the science popularization education of the museum and done the investigation for one year and finally finished the investigation report.The investigation is mainly composed of seven parts: introduction,introduction to science popularization education connotation of museum of natural history,investigation on science popularization of Chongqing Museum of Natural History,analysis of practical investigation on science popularization of Chongqing Museum of Natural History and suggestions of enhancing science popularization education of Chongqing Museum of Natural History and conclusions.The contents include three sections: basic theories of science popularization education,science popularization resources and education status of Chongqing Museum of Natural History,analysis,research and suggestions on science popularization education of Chongqing Museum of Natural History.Though investigation and research,the author thinks that Chongqing Museum of Natural History is of good development trend with advantages of good stadium,brilliant culture,abundant resources and numerous treasures in hardware and good leadership,capable basic level,reasonable systems and flexible approaches,etc in software.However,the museum still needs improvement in science popularization education.The author puts forward three suggestions.Firstly,augment education team;secondly,make education methods innovation;thirdly,develop cultural innovation products.Taking these suggestions as core,the paper constructs a system to wholly enhance the science popularization education standards of Chongqing Museum of Natural History.The author also thinks,according to the practical experience,that the development and innovation of cultural innovative products cooperated between the museums and cultural innovative enterprises is a win-win mode,which not only benefits the economic development of museums,but also helps enhance science popularization education standards.
