The research is about species diversity of Syrphidae in the north-central region of Shanxi where includes six cities(Datong,Shuozhou,Xinzhou,Lvliang,Linfen,Jincheng).3850 Syrphidae specimens were collected and 2 subfamilies 10 tribes 39 genera 111 species identifed,among these species there are 4 tribes 26 genera 90 species belonging to Sphinae and 6 tribes 13 genera 21 species to Eristalinae.The four new species are described and illustrated,namely Platycheirus multisetus sp.nov.,Chrysotoxum seximaculatum sp.nov.,Dasysyrphus angusticincta sp.nov.,Dasysyrphus angusticincta sp.nov.,Dasysyrphus luyaensis sp.nov.Parasyrphus macularis(Zetterstedt,1843)is firstly recorded from China.28 species are firstly recorded from Shanxi.Syrphus ribesii(Linnaeus,1758)and Eristalis tenax(Linnaeus,1758)are the dominant species of Syrphidae by the study of the species diversity in the north-central region of Shanxi.Eupeodes corollae(Fabricius,1794)and Eupeodes silvaticus He,1993 are the common species.Eupeodes Osten Sacken,1877,Syrphus Fabricius,1775 and Eristalis Latreille,1804 are abundant.Syrphini is the dominant tribe.The species of Syrphinae are more than Eristalinae.The result of species diversity research about the different months: Margalef diversity index,Shannon-wiener diversity index and Simpson diversity index are the highest in the August,the Pielou diversity index is the highest in the September,so Syrphidae are the most active in August.The Jaccard diversity index between July and August is the highest by clustering analysis.It shows that the species of Syrphidae in July is similar to the secies of Syphidae in August.The result of species diversity research about the different regions: Margalef diversity index and Simpson diversity index are the highest in Xinzhou,Shannon-wiener diversity index is the highest in Linfen,Pielou diversity index in Datong is the highest,Syrphidae of ecologically intact areas are abundant.The clustering results of different regions show that similarity of Datong and Shuozhou is the highest,Xinzhou and Lvliang is higher.The faunal analysis of Syrphidae about the north-central region of Shanxi showed that common palaearctic region and oriental region are fundamental,The multi-region distributing genera is the fundamental composition of the north-central region of Shanxi.
