?Objective? The butterfly is widely distributed, and apart from its high ornamental value,it is often used as an indicator species of biodiversity and ecological and environmental status due to its specificity to habitat and sensitivity to environmental changes,in addition to being an important pollinating insect, which is important for maintaining the genetic diversity of plants and improving the yield and quality of crops, but there are also individual species that are agroforestry pests, and the geographical and climatic environment of Tibet is special, the biological resources are abundant, and the butterflies resources are relatively abundant,in order to understand the butterfly species diversity and flora distribution characteristics in Tibet, which will provide a scientific basis for understanding the species diversity and regional distribution, thereby improving basic data for scientific research and resource use,as well as for the scientific conservation and rational use of.? Method ? From April to September 2019 to 2021,in Medog County,Bomi County,Chayu County,Mangkang County,Zuogong County,Lang County,Lhasa,Jilong County,Cuona County and other places in the Tibet Autonomous Region County,as well as Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon,Sejila Mountain,Demla Mountain,Nanyigou,Jilonggou,Chentanggou and other scenic spots and protected areas to collect and investigate butterflies, and collect and record various kinds of butterflies more than 31,000;and sorted out and consulted the butterfly specimens such as the Herbarium of the Faculty of Science of Tibet University, the Insect Room of the Institute of Plateau Biology of the Tibet Autonomous Region, and the Herbarium of the Tibet Museum of Natural Science, and reviewed more than 10,000 butterfly specimens of various types. There are more than 41,000 butterfly specimens and records. The author conducted a systematic study of the Tibetan butterfly resource by combining with domestic and foreign research data on butterflies,as well as from the peripheral regions of Tibet?Result? The results are as follows:1.The butterfly species diversity: 751 species of butterflies in the Tibet Autonomous Region, belonging to 12 families and 247 genera.Papilionidae 14 genera and 47 species,Parnassiidae 1 genera and 30 species,Pieridae 14 genera and 73 species,Danaidae 4 genera and 9species,Amathusiidae 6 genera and 10 species,Satyridae 34 genera and134 species,Nymphalidae 59 genera and 173 species,Acraeidae 1 genera and 1 species,Libytheidae 1 genera and 2 species,Riodinidae 5 genera and20 species,Lycaenidae 57 genera and 122 species,Hesperiidae 51 genera and 130 species.2.The community characteristics of the butterflies: Nymphalidae and Satyridae are the dominant populations, and the generic and species dominance of Nymphalidae are 23.87% and 23.04%,respectively;the genera and species dominance of Satyridae are 13.77% and 17.84%,respectively.Lycaenidae and Hesperiidae are subdominant populations. The dominance of the genera and species are 23.08% and 16.25% in Lycaenidae, respectively;the dominance of the genera and species are20.65% and 17.31% in Hesperiidae, respectively.Libyheidae and Acraeidae are rare populations, the dominance of genera and species of Libyheidae are 0.40% and 0.27%,and the dominance of genera and species of Acraeidae are 0.40% and 0.13%;other families are common populations.3.The new record: 5 new record generic and 14 new record species were found in this study, among which Lasiommata maerula is a new record of distribution in China.4.The composition of the faunal: 397 species are the Oriental origin,183 species are the Palaearctic origin,171 species are the widespread origin, indicating the butterfly faunal in Tibet is dominated by Oriental species, accounting for 52.86%,the Palaearctic species accounting for24.37%,and the widely distributed species accounting for 22.77%.Among them,Medog Community,Yadong Community,Bomi Community, and Linzhi Community are dominated by Oriental species,so these communities are classified as Oriental;Mangkang Community,Changdu Community, and Dingqing Community are are dominated by widely distributed species.Widely species and Palaearctic species are dominant,so these communities are classified as the transitional area between the Oriental region and the Palaearc region of the fauna;Zangzhong Community,Zangnan Community,Nagqu Community,Ali Community, and Qiangtang Community are dominated by Palaearctic species,so these communities are classified as the Palaearctic.?Conclusion? The butterfly species is rich in Tibet.Through the study of various butterfly specimens and records, there are a total of more than 41,000,and the number of species reaches 751,belonging to 12 families and 247 genera through morphological identification.Among them,Nymphalidae and Satyridae are dominant populations,Lycaenidae and Hesperiidae are subdominant populations,Libyheidae and Acraeidae are rare populations, and other families are common populations.5 new record generic and 14 new record species were found in this study, among which Lasiommata maerula is a new record of distribution in China. The butterfly faunal in Tibet is dominated by Oriental species.Medog Community,Yadong Community,Bomi Community, and Linzhi Community are dominated by Oriental species,Mangkang Community,Changdu Community, and Dingqing Community are are dominated by widely distributed species.Zangzhong Community,Zangnan Community,Nagqu Community,Ali Community, and Qiangtang Community are dominated by Palaearctic species.
