This paper explored the assessment area of Huokou reservoir in Luoyuan Fujian Province. We developed route survey and typical vegetation formation sampling plots investigations methods to obtain the information of vegetation types, distribution of priority protective plants and ancient trees, biomass data and land use status information etc. Then we combined field investigations with RS, GPS and GIS technology by using remote-sensing software to interpret the TM image to classify the landscape types and get the area and account information about the landscape path. Based on the Vegetation ecology and Landscape ecology method to analyze the effect of vegetation and environment on this reservoir project. This would provide some fundamental data for environment impact assessment and important scientific basis of plant diversity protection, vegetation restoration and landscape pattern optimization.Field survey showed that, there were 10 plant formation defined as 4 vegetation types, belonging to 3 classes of vegetation type. Including Form. Castanopsis carlesii, Form. Cyclobalanopsis glauca, Form. Lithocarpus glaber, Form. Eucalyptus grandis × Eucalyptus urophylla, Form. Pinus massoniana, Form. Cunninghamia lanceolata, Form. Phyllostachys heterocycla cv. pubescens, Form. Phyllostachys makinoi, Form. Saccharum arundinaceum, Form. Miscanthus floridulus and some orchard vegetation like Form. Citrus reticulata and Form. Citrus maxima. We have found 5 national protected plants, and 4 ancient trees.We compared the traditional diversity index with two taxonomic indices, the result indicated that the two taxonomic indices were superior to the traditional one, and the latter got uniformity result that Castanopsis carlesii has higher diversity and the Form. Eucalyptus grandis×Eucalyptus urophylla with the most homogeneous species distribution. Taxonomic diversity results reflected the evaluation area with high taxonomic diversity respectively, and Pearson correlation analysis proved that species diversity has no correlation with the sample within species.We also evaluated the biomass by the means of establishing relative growth model and got the area was 10420.65 hm2, total biomass was 1201807.78 t which the result not included the water biomass. After expected, the occupied land area was 1207.703 hm2 with biomass 63098.07629 t, which captured the percent of 5.25% of the total biomass in this study zone. In addition, with the completion of the main project, we can regain part biomass by restoring ecology and planting vegetation. Therefore the total plant biomass decreased with low proportion but showed little change influence within an affordable range of forest ecosystem.The statistic of vascular plants showed a rich diversity with 742 species, which belonging to 404 genera,137 families. Among them, Pteridophyte with 104 species,55 genera,30 families; gymnosperm with 12 species,7 genera,6 families; dicotyledon appeared with 555 species,290 genera,90 families and the discovered monocotyledon were 71 species,52 genera,11 families. And the floral analysis indicated that the researched region with relatively complicated elements, which the Tropical composition occupied the dominant, among them the Pantropical components were the most abundant especially, and the Temperate distribution type also occupied certain proportion.Finally, we conducted the analysis of landscape diversity and a risk assessment system on landscape ecological stability. It turned out that the landscape composed with dominated Evergreen broad-leaved forest, the others with a mosaic distribution pattern. As the area increased, the isolation index was decreased, the overall landscape integrity was better and the fragmentation degree was lower. In conclusion, reservoir engineering construction has less effect on the landscape ecological system stability, and the ability of recovery and anti-interference is reversible.
