Development Strategy Research Of W Semiconductor

Semiconductors are core components of the computer, communications and consumer electronics products; they are widely used in different applications. The semiconductor industry is the basis for the electronics industry, and it is a strategic industry of the national economy. The semiconductor industry has the features like rapid development and fierce competition, how to survive and develop in the fierce competition is an issue that every semiconductor company must face. This paper will take the development issues of W Semiconductor as a starting point, and use MBA strategic management theory, try to layout the development strategy that suitable for W Semiconductor by the analysis result of W Semiconductor and its competitors.First, the paper will analyze the macro-environment of semiconductor industry, including the analysis on political factors, economic factors, social factors, technological factors and global factors. Then in understanding the characteristics of the semiconductor industry, the basis of the evolution of the business model and the industry value chain, combining the industry analysis with Porter’s five forces model, summed up the opportunities and threats faced by W Semiconductor.Then, the paper do the internal situation analysis form multiple pointers of view, including R & D, human resources, financial situation, marketing and product structure, summarized the strengths and weaknesses of W Semiconductor.Finally, the development strategies were made from the SWOT analysis results and W Semiconductor’s vision. These strategies include using the cash flow caused by existing profitable projects, try reasonable adjustment of product structure, using "Lego" combo mode to reduce costs, strengthening the technical and patent reserves. And the paper also proposed the implementation of safeguards strategy.
