With the rapid development of society, the quality of life and well-being of residents have attracted much more attention. In the Twelfth Five-year Program of China, it is an important target to improve national happiness index. Enhancing residents’ happiness and adhering to the path of livelihood-oriented development have become the whole society’s consensus, which has great significance for building a harmonious society. Foreign and domestic scholars have done a lot of research on destination tourism impact, but they seldom put their hands on the tourism impact on residents’ subject well-being(SWB). Therefore, this paper chose the traditional village Lu Xiang in Suzhou as the research object. Based on the existing research results, the author investigated the residents’SWB state in Lu Xiang village and analyzed the affecting factors of the level of residents’SWB. Through the research on the relationship between residents’perception of tourism impact and their SWB, this paper is aimed at seeking effective tourism development measures to increase residents’SWB. We can get the following conclusions through this paper’s research:Overall, the general life satisfaction of residents in Lu Xiang village is below the medium level. Most residents’subject well-being is relatively low. The research on the tourism impact on residents’subject well-being lists three aspects of results:(1) From the aspect of tourism economic impact, the more the residents obtain economic benefits from the tourism development, the higher their subject well-being is; conversely, their subject well-being is lower.(2) From the aspect of tourism social culture impact, the positive social culture impacts have little influence on residents’ subjective well-being; however, the more the negative social culture impacts are, the lower their subjective well-being is.(3) From the aspect of tourism natural environment impact, the more the tourism development enhances local environment quality, the higher the residents’ subjective well-being is; on the contrary, the negative natural environment impacts has little influence on their subjective well-being.To sum up, the tourism development brings much more benefits for local residents’ daily life and their subjective well-being will be much higher; on the contrary, their subjective well-being will be lower.
