A Study On The Relationship Between Environment Perception, Place Attachment And Tourist Satisfaction

As China’s economic is developing and people’s quality of life is improving,more and more tourists started turning from mass tourism to recreation tourism. Thetourism of traditional village has not only become an important way for people’srecreation, but also become one very important and popular research in the tourismfield. But recently in China most of the researches about traditional village’s tourismare more concentrated in southern Anhui, Jiangxi where traditional village’s tourismhas become more mature cases. On the other hand, only a few studies on China’sLingnan traditional villages, and research and theory are rather monotonous.Therefore, author uses place attachment theory into the traditional village’s tourism inthis paper. Based on the characteristics of Lingnan traditional villages–traditionalvillage of Xiaozhou, author investigates visitors’ place attachment, analyzes thedegree of place attachment to explain the tourists’ special feelings to Xiaozhou andfurther explores the relationship between environment perception, place attachmentand tourist satisfaction. The results show that:(1)According to the degree of place attachment of tourists in Xiaozhou, touristsare divided into four types:"tourists without place attachment"," tourists who havethe feeling of place attachment "," tourists with general place attachment "and"tourists with strong place attachment.(2) tourist’s environment perception positivelyinfluences tourist’s perception of place attachment;(3) tourist’s environmentalperception positively influences tourist satisfaction;(4) Place attachment positivelyinfluences tourist satisfaction (5) tourist’s environmental perception indirectlyinfluences tourist satisfaction thought tourist’s place attachment. Based on the aboveanalysis, author gives some suggestions for the present tourism problems of Xiaozhouto help the tourism development and protection of Xiaozhou. What’s more, this paperhelp enrich theories of traditional village’s tourism and place attachment.
