JBL Company-Study On Project O Supply Chain Management

With the globalization of Economy, Supply Chain had become the core portion of competition between Electronics Manufacturing Service enterprises. All seek for Supply Chain with Agility, Speed and Innovation. To meet the dynamic change of marketing, continually optimize supply chain systems; focus on every point of Chain to collaborate customer, company itself and suppliers. Actually the core of Supply chain management now is Supply Chain collaboration management. Collaborating the chain, from getting customer product demand, to purchasing materials, manufacturing products and finally reaching customers, is to improve overall competition ability of supply chain, meet customer satisfactions, increase the revenue, as well as reduce cost.This thesis is comprised of two parts. One part is describing the supply chain system and management of JBL Company and Project O, figuring out the problems in Project O supply chain management, like, greatly fluctuate demand, unbalanced production planning and illogical inventory control etc. which impact OTD and Customer satisfactions. In second part, firstly, it overviews the basic theories and methods of Supply Chain and SCM, Secondly, it analyzes root causes of the problems. Fluctuate demand is caused by the accuracy of forecast and information sharing; then unbalanced demand, Seasonality, materials shortage and information delaying delivery make unbalanced production planning; while demand and material lead time impact illogical inventory controls, All those impact one another, the main issue should be Collaboration management of SC. Finally, it is problem solutions. Using SCM theories and methods with applying Demand Management Tool and Control Tower, the thesis lists out the detailed steps in improving forecast accuracy, leverage demand and production planning, maintain reasonable inventory, emphasizing the importance of Supply Chain Collaboration management with collaborating demand forecasting, production planning and inventory control management, to meet demand and improve customer satisfactions.
