With the tide of economic globalization, under the condition of international competition and industry increasingly competition, the manufacturing industry, especially the auto and parts enterprises will be faced increasingly competitive pressure in the aspects of price, quality, cost and service. Enterprises which want to constitute to survive and grow in a competitive environment should need improvement and promotion in the price and quality, etc. Research and practice at home and abroad have shown that the implementation of lean production is one of the main means of enhancing the comprehensive competitiveness of enterprise. In this paper, the application of lean production in I company is discussed.First, the theory of lean production from the domestic and foreign scholars has been summarized and reviewed, and the concept, development process, content, main tools of lean production and the research and development status of lean production in the domestic and foreign currently have been understood.Second, the production management process of I company is analyzed. It is found that there are some problems, such as no equipment operation professional, the mess of production site environment, production planning unmatched, the chaos of production process beats and workshop irrational. The SWOT analysis is carried out, and the advantages and disadvantages, opportunities and threats of the company are revealed, and the necessity of implementing lean production is put forward.Third, the implementation of lean production in I company is specifically discussed, which mainly includes three stages: the preparation stage, the basic improvement phase and the consolidation phase, which contain eight steps, namely the formation of lean production team, training, the development of accreditation, assessment and reward system, the promoting manual of 5S, the implementation of total quality management, the lean improvement of production plan, the balanced production process, and re-layout of the production workshop. And the effect of lean production in I company is summarized, and there are some problems in the implementation of lean production, such as the lack of lean culture and lean cultural atmosphere, the lean production system unformed, and the subjective evaluation of lean production.Finally, the three aspects of the lean culture of enterprise, the construction and the performance evaluation of lean production system are put forward to improve lean production status in I company.The research of this paper provides theoretical guidance for the practice of lean production in I company, in order to promote the rapid and steady development of I company, so that the company has a place in the current market competition environment. Meanwhile the same type of manufacturing enterprises who implement lean production will have a certain reference value.
