A Study On Lean Procurement In The Supply Chain Of KSB Compnay

The thesis is concerned with purchasing management of KSB company. From supply chain management perspective and using the tools from lean management, we study the supply chain of KSB, a company whose production is of low volume and high mixed. How to make procurement plan according to market demand and to guarantee high quality and keep lowest price is of most importance for KSB company.Based on the practice, we adopt theories from supply chain management and lean management, and develop detailed solutions to the existing problems KSB supply chain, especially its procurement, including: optimizing the number of suppliers, design of the pricing mechanism, setting supplier performance evaluation system, starting the vendor-managed inventory mode. The objective is to achieve the optimal balance between the low total cost and high quality. The study may provide reference to solving similar problems in manufacturing enterprises with high mixed and low volume production.
