With the rapid development of China's auto industry, the engine market competition becomes increasingly fierce. The cost of purchased parts in the engine is a very large proportion of total costs, thus improving the procurement management of the business activities become more important for any enterprise. Lean Procurement is an effective way to reduce production costs and improve the competitiveness of an enterprise. How to lower the total cost of purchased parts and enhance the competitiveness of products with Lean Procurement is an urgent and important issue to resolve the problem of production, it's also a useful exploration to enhance the level of procurement management.This thesis describes the origins of Lean Production and Lean Procurement concept, describes the characteristics and requirements of Lean Procurement. Through analyzing the implementation of Lean Procurement of domestic and foreign enterprises, combining with the company's actual situation, it develops the objectives of Lean Procurement to minimize inventories as much as possible. In accordance with the procurement strategy of demand-driven orders, it establishes the implementation Mode of Lean Procurement. According to the common problems of Procurement management, it analyzes the problem of supplier selection, quality management, cost management, information management, order management and several other aspects systematically, through comparing Lean Procurement with the traditional procurement, and it also does preliminary risk assessment and countermeasures studying, it develops the specific strategies and approaches for implementing Lean Procurement of the engine project. The method studied in this thesis is of universal significance for the procurement management of complex mechanical products.
