As one of the essential parts of supply chain management, production planning management is able to ensure market demand satisfaction as well as product quality, production schedule and key cost control. Sales plan provided by market is the main foundation and reference for production plan of supply chain, which takes a certain period and during which, supply chain plans product criteria to be produced, quantity, purchasing strategy, track production progress and arrange proper capacity to optimize utilization. Production plan is the foundation for a factory to plan for facilities, resources and manpower and an assurance to satisfy orders. Although AMS company’s production plan has attracted attention of partial executives, some are still indifferent. The company’s executive team holds different opinions. The planning managers still adapt traditional basic mode to arrange production. Despite the fact that planning managers are following the management process based on MRP, various issues and problems occur during practical operations, which causes dissatisfaction from customer in quality, delivery lead time and cost control and even contradicts against AMS company’s own interest. As a result, AMS company has to study issues including how to manage production plan better, the effective way to analyze and manage market demand and how to confirm, execute and adjust market demand, etc. Production plan consists of master scheduling, processing plan management and material control management. AMS company possesses a wide variety of products with relatively small batch quantity, which leads to high operation cost and difficult production progress control. These problems have been solved with thorough study, which not only enhance AMS company’s production planning management capability but also satisfy sales department’s requirement on delivery and ultimately customer’s needs.This article aims to analyze and solve the above mentioned problems based on the current production planning management theory and MRP framework theory. It also summarizes solutions to the issues and would puts into practices with improvement actions which includes the background and significance of the research, the framework, the train of thought and logic; Basic theories of production plan management, including master production plan management, process plan, material demand planning MRP, inventory control, JIT; The present situation of AMS production planning management system, such as demand information acquisition, definition and analysis of master plan management; Material confirmation, tracking, change and control of production of process plan management; PR calculation of material planning, PO issuing, etc.. And detailed description of production plan management method and key points. Moreover, this article puts forward optimization ideas based on the problems existing in the AMS plan management and recommends corresponding solutions to make regularly retrospective analysis and keep tracking the implementation of production plan management.Once we master the method and techniques of supply chain production planning management, we will have correct and complete market information at the planning beginning stage. Meanwhile, with thorough analysis of market demand, follow up and control on different stages on the production plan; we are flexible to handle market demand change. We have to recognize market demand change and analyze it and follow strictly the process of change to have better control of market demand change. Moreover, we may promote our production planning management knowledge and experience to not only AMS company’s managers but also his peers.
