In the process of socialist construction in China, the power industry is a pillar industry, which plays an important role in promoting the economic and social development in China. Under the background of socialist market economy, how to carry out the power marketing management has become a major issue for electric power companies. This paper takes the marketing management of Sichuan electric power company as the research object, and analyzes the opportunities, threats, advantages and disadvantages of the electric power company in the current market environment. The article believes that the Sichuan electric power company’s marketing management work from the fundamental, but also with a strong planned economy and industry monopoly color, the main existence of distribution network construction is relatively backward, power supply reliability and power quality can not fully meet customer needs, business marketing intensive, professional and lean management is more extensive, marketing staff is not strong sense of competition, provide quality service means is not many other issues. These problems restrict the further development of the company to a great extent. Therefore, in the new situation of the national power supply enterprise system reform, Sichuan electric power company must abandon the thinking mode of the planned economy and the monopoly enterprise, establish the enterprise development consciousness, strengthen market competition consciousness. Based on marketing theory, the paper analyzes the economic, market and policy environment of the company’s electric power marketing through SWTO analysis. The scientific market segmentation and target market positioning are carried out. Based on this, the paper makes a new marketing strategy, which is based on reality and market, and the basic requirements of marketing management. In the electric power marketing organization and implementation of: Sichuan Province Electric Power Company to increase the transmission intensity of construction and reconstruction of distribution network, actively respond to alternative energy competition, vigorously develop the potential of the sale of electricity market; to take effective measures to optimize the power marketing customer service service, as the most likely to create electricity and urban and rural residents with business expansion the electric core target market with good industrial environment; to further strengthen the electricity recovery, comprehensive line loss rate index to enhance the marketing management, the economic level of the company; to improve the power quality, to ensure that important customer special demand for electricity; to further optimize the rural human resources, to ensure that front-line staff stability, to lay the foundation for global energy development of the internet.
