Under the background of the accelerating process in industrialization and urbanization, our country are increasingly facing the practical problem of cities development that demand for more and more land, this leads to serious contradiction between land supply and demand; therefore under the premise of cutting down the conflicts between land supply and need without the slowdown in economic development, in response to the issue of intensive land-use, we are needed to carry on further researches. The development area in our country has more than 20 years history, until the end of 2013, there are 210 state-level economic development areas included, of which the east region includes 103 areas, the central region includes 60 areas, the west region has 47 areas, the quantity and proportion of state-level economic development area grow significantly in the central and western regions, the distribution of state-level economic development area are becoming more balanced in our country than others regions; currently development area has not only become the leadership in driving the world economy, but it becomes the most potential economy demonstration area as well. Therefore, with regard to the evaluation of urban land intensive use potentials in Taiyuan Economic and Technical Development area, not only this research beneficial to the intensive direction of development areas, but can provide certain reference value to integrated planning of Taiyuan economic development area as well.The researching object of this thesis is Taiyuan Economic and Technical Development area, and it is based on the recent development of studies concerning land-intensive use in the domestic and overseas and the analysis of land use status in Taiyuan Economic and Technical Development area, simultaneously based on the principles from " The Regulations for Land Intensive use in the Development Areas (Trial)" (2014) the research approaches and procedures have already been confirmed; furthermore, the land use structure, land use efficiencies and land management performance are studied as well; Consequently, the intensive land-use of Taiyuan Economic and Technical Development area can be evaluated and measured reasonably.In the evaluation of land intensive utilization of development area, the evaluation index systems of three levels include objective, sub-targets and indicator are established. At the same time, the weighted value of indexes is determined by the analytic hierarchy process (AHP). The ideal value is determined by the method of target value and the method of expert consultation. The standard of the entrance of the development area is determined by the measures of government. Target standardization processing using the method of ratio calculation. On the basis of the ideal value and the government guidance, I will give the Evaluate of the development area. Meanwhile, according to Evaluation Procedures of Land Intensive Utilization of the Development area (trial) drafted by the ministry of land and resources, I have calculated the intensive potential. The results show that the land expansion potential of economic and technological development zone of Taiyuan city is 69.9886 hectare, the structure potential is 101.1034 hectare, the intensity potential is 69.9793 hectare, the management potential is 0 hectare. The sum of these potential are 241.0713 hectare, accounting for 25.91% of the total area. These data suggest thatthere still have development potential. This paper points out the potential structure, which should be as main direction of intensive use of the development area in the future. The extend potential and the intensity potential should be taken as a key object. According to the research results, I will put forward several specific advice, that regarding the intensive land-use of Taiyuan Economic and Technical Development area.
