The Research On NPI Project Management Base On Lean Thinking

In the21century, science and technology improvement speed up. Customer market requires new products with property of short lead time, diversification and high quality. The management of traditional NPI project facing new challenges. Lean thinking originated from auto-motive industry. Its core idea is continuous elimination of waste, reduction variation and improvement. As advanced, broad management ideas, lean thinking is gradually applied to various industries. Lean Thinking’s principles and methods are also adapted to the new era project management features and requirement. During a small batch trial production to mass production of new products introduction, it can improve the project management process flow management with deficiencies, inefficient, wasteful duplication and other issues.New product introduction project management is an extremely important procedure for every Manufacturing enterprises. This paper applies lean thinking and project management theory, combined with author’s working experience. It analyzes the new product introduce process flow with VSM, exploiting deeply the NPI process flow with information flow waste, quality over control waste, intelligence human resource waste. Improvement strategies based on lean thinking are established to improve NPI project management level. The improvements in the new products introduction project management flow process of EBM have certain practical significance, both in theory or practice of production. Meanwhile, this paper provides valuable experience of new product introduction management to small and medium manufacturing enterprises.
