For an enterprise, everyone has its own work processes for sure. But, among those processes, some of them are dominant, some processes are recessive. Meanwhile, some are reasonable, some are constrained. In order to ensure consistency and high efficient of management, recessive business processes need to be made explicitly, and those unsuitable processes need to be improved or eliminated.As a way to solve management problems, management theory and methods are always closely related with management demand. Therefore, the demand for business process adjustments spawned the birth of a management approach-Process Management.In the wake of development in process theory, process management has evolved from process reengineering to process improving. Namely, it’s evolved from re-designing&re-planning business process to upgrading current processes.In another word, improvement of operational efficiency should be realized by combing, refining and ameliorating the current processes. The ultimate purpose is to serve the business developing goal.The aim of this article is to elaborate and analyze an actual BPI project which is carried out by NF Company. By the case, the reader can get a clear idea of the way how to implement BPI project and the way how to evaluate the results of its implementation.First, the NF Company sets up a BPI project team to select an external partner. After determining external partner, project team tries to grasp NF’s management status and business process foundation by the way of questionnaires and interviews. And then, project team evaluates NF’s process management level via using MCE model analysis before BPI project which is implemented. On the basis of getting its BPM real situation, the team combs and optimizes process of Sales Dept., R&D Dept. and Procurement Dept. one by one, according to NF’s requirement.Here are two ways to improve processes.1) for those processes which are suitable for KPI evaluation, we refine key performance indicators and combine KPI with BPI.2) for those processes suitable for qualitative analysis, we take cause analysis of problems, and then present solution of each specific problem. Based on optimizing all those benchmarking of those three key departments, we extend the work of BPI to form process system of whole enterprise.Afterwards, PEMM assessment form is used to evaluate process management maturity of whole process system. Meanwhile, process management rating form is used to research the enterprise’s BPM status meticulously. The aim is to find out the shortage of current BPM and re-improve the shortage. Finally, a dynamic process improvement mechanism of "Improvement-Evaluation-Re-improvement" will be set up, to provide the enterprise with a steady stream of momentum.
