An individual is the smallest unit of a family, an organization and thecommunity.The premise of achieving the goal of a group of individuals is to completea part of his own goal. The key to individual goals, it is that self-management. Onlyperson correctly understand their own strengths and weaknesses, clarify their ownvalues and ways of doing things in order to know what to do, in what way to do it,and ultimately to take efficient and correct way to carry out actions to achieve theultimate goal. In the knowledge economy and society, self-management becomesincreasingly important. In the background that the organization gradually flattened,personal self-realization increasingly urgent demand, decentralized management morecommon.Knowledge workers self-management for the organization to achieve itsobjectives, accessing to excess profits, has a very important significance. With respectto the non-knowledge workers, knowledge workers have a high cultural quality, moreawareness and self-management. Through self-management, knowledge workers canwork as the center of the organization’s objectives, all acts are subject to theorganization’s goals, resulting in higher performance. Through self-management,self-discipline knowledge workers can reduce or even avoid inconsistent behaviorwith organizational goals, reduce business risk. At the same time, goodself-management can help employees work to develop a reasonable plan to reducework redundancy and improve efficiency. More importantly, the knowledge workerself-management, enabling individual goals with organizational goals aligned so as toenhance team cohesion through resonance effect and contribute to the sharing ofknowledge and results. Its study for mechanism of self-management knowledgeworkers helps us to grasp the dimensions of knowledge workers self-managementstructure, mechanism of action and the role of the process between the variousdimensions, which can be scientific and effective way to help knowledge-based staffto carry out self-management, improve the individual performance levels. In this paper,in the basis of combing the definition and characteristics ofknowledge workers, the definition of self-management, characteristics andinfluencing factors, the factors dividing the knowledge worker self-managementsystem is dominant and invisible two categories. Where the dominant elementsinclude self time management, self-performance management, self-management byobjectives, self-management and self-health management of interpersonalrelationships, self-awareness implicit elements include management, emotionalself-management, self-management and self-learning management responsibility.Classification by elements and influencing factors, construct knowledge workersself-management model. After reading literature and expert advice, design and itcontains39items distributed questionnaires to nine dimensions of knowledge workersself-management of random sampling. Survey results show that knowledge workersin the self-management process will be affected by the organizational level, theindividual level and the task level, the higher the degree of autonomy the task, and thetask can not be normative and some reasons of knowledge workers will generateself-management affected. Organization leader’s personal charisma and personalityand leadership style will have a profound impact on knowledge workersself-management. Finally, put forward knowledge workers self-management policyrecommendations, such as efforts to create a knowledge-based workers in line withthe needs of the work environment, managers adjust management methods andmanagement philosophy and so on.
