The Study On Logistics Management Of The Overseas EPC Project

As the development of economic globalization and the further enhance of China’sopening strategy, EPC (Engineer Procure Construct) Contract is on the way to be themajority choice of international engineering contact. And the EPC project logistics asa core competency will has a lasting impact in global competition of engineeringproject market. The ability of EPC project logistics will directly influence theprogress and quality of international project. The lost caused by delay of materiel andequipment is not measured by the cost of freight. It will seriously impact the progressof the project. So logistics management is one of the key elements through out ofevery international project.This article firstly introduced the background and the meaning of this research and theresearch status domestically and internationally. Then this article showed thedefinition and features of the EPC project contract, procedures of the EPC overseasproject, plan of logistics, choices of suppliers, and the features of EPC projectlogistics management. At the end this article makes N’Djamena as an example todemonstrate project status, organization construction and operation procedures.According to the research of the road condition, freight suppliers, vehicle status, timecost for customs and the local risk factors of Chad, we concluded some internal andexternal problems in N’Djamena overseas project. And we also provided somesuggestions to improve external circumstances and enhance internal management.Based on overseas EPC Project logistics management processes, characteristics andother related theories to Chad N’Djamena refinery EPC Project for example, throughthe project management of logistics processes and work issues research, relying onthe conditions for social poor, high security risk factors, adverse conditions inoverseas markets inland transport of EPC project execution domestic enterprises toprovide a shared reference and practical guidance.
