Study On FAW-GM Company Quality System Optimization

Along with the rapid development of China auto market, the competition in autoindustry is more and more fierce, auto enterprises will confront more pressure and challenge,pursuing predominant quality has been the strategic objective for all auto manufacturerswant to be bigger and stronger. Recent years, some domestic auto brands start to make jointventure or cooperation companies with foreign auto manufacturers in order to learn moreexperience on quality management from foreign companies to improve domestic brandcompetition, increasing brand value. Then how to change old quality management patternand accept advanced quality management method and awareness, look for suitable qualitymanagement system and improve quality management status is the problem which wasthought over by auto companies.This thesis start from quality management foundational theory to analysis and summarythe GM auto quality system and experience in practice. Through analysis and evaluateFAW-GM quality system status to find issues and gap and design a suitable quality systemfor FAW-GM based on the actual status, hope to help FAW-GM improving quality assuranceability and provide reference for improving quality assurance capability and qualitymanagement level. It is a brief statement as below:1. The theory foundation of auto. industry quality management systemThrough the analysis of auto. industry quality management system to know the qualitysystem current situation and quality developing history, master the same and different pointbetween ISO9000quality system and ISO/TS16949system and GMS system detailedrequirements, In order to make a sufficient theoretical foundation for integratingISO/TS16949quality system and GMS system and set up a applicable quality managementsystem for FAW-GM.2. FAW-GM quality management system status analysisThere are three plants in FAW-GM, the main product is light duty truck, the qualityassurance are very weak due to this industry developing slowly in China, currently Harbinplant and Hongta plant had passed the ISO9001quality system certificate, but Changchunplant and headquarter did not get any quality system certificate.Through the analysis of FAW-GM management status and products quality status in FAW-GM and analysis the root reasons, then prepare to take actions to solve the issues inquality management.3. FAW-GM quality management system optimization designStudy and analysis the three plants quality management status, meanwhile searchingand studying the integration of ISO/TS16949system and GMS system, found the best wayto establish the FAW-GM quality management system. That is setting up a completed andoperable quality management system based on a frame of ISO/TS16949system and detailsof GMS system.Organize the site diagnosis in FAW-GM in order to find issues in working details andsuggest improvement measures, clear some problems which need resolved quickly bySWOT analysis and do the good preparation for next step of process identification andanalysis.Use the tortoise chart to analysis every quality process and set up quality processassociation diagram, clear core process, support process and management process byorganizing related people to review and discuss. Develop process flow documents work afterdoing the work of documents standardization and normalization in order to make alldocuments to be clear and easy to understand, so the most important is that organizingrelated people to review and update the process flow documents to make it to be reasonable,suitable and operable.During quality system running, continuously improving the system and supplementrelated records and sheets, some documents can be changed when we found any conflict andincomplete between different process flow, it make the quality system flow to be more andmore reasonable and applicative.4. The effect evaluation after quality system runningEvaluate the quality system by internal audit and management review and findimprovement opportunities for issues, prove the quality system’s suitability and adequacy bythe performance of improving quality management and products quality on market.Continuously studying on how to set up a suitable quality management pattern in jointventure companies, deeply searching and studying quality management method from newproducts quality control and manufacture quality control to field quality control in order toimprove company’s quality management capability and standard completely.
