Research On The Agricultural Technology Extension Performance Of Red Sorghum Professional Cooperative

At present the relatively sound technical promotion mode based on the farmer professional cooperatives hasbeen initially formed in our country.In the aspect of introduction, experiment and demonstration and popularization of agricultural technology applications,farmer professional cooperatives have experienced a preliminary development.In the aspect of promoting agricultural and rural economic development etc, cooperatives have played an irreplaceable role.The importance of farmer professional co-operatives is increasing in new agricultural technology promotion.However, now farmer professional cooperativesare in the early stage of development. So agricultural technology popularization based on farmers’ professional cooperatives also faces many problems.These problems greatly reduced the agro-technical popularization performance of cooperatives, which was not beneficial to the increase of farmers’ income and was unfavorable to the development of rural economy and the realization of agricultural modernization.Therefore, using the sample of Red Sorghum Professional Cooperative in Shuangyushu town of Daqing city of Heilongjiang province as the research object, in this paper the extension performance was studied. In this study the important theoretical basis for improving the farmers’ professional co-operatives extension performance and promoting the reformation of cooperative promotion system will be provided, so in this research there will be important practical guiding significance.The main content of this study are as follows:First of all, extension status of the Shuangyushu Red Sorghum Professional Cooperative was analyzed. Promotion content mainly focused on the sorghum cultivation techniques; promotion way is diversiform; In2014 extension commitment, professional agro-technical personnel and agricultural materials of cooperative were still in shortage; in terms of promoting output, farmers’ satisfaction of extension’s content was higher than the satisfaction of extension’s forms.Secondly, based on the DEA extension performance evaluation index system of the Red Sorghum Professional Cooperative was constructed, and the system included six secondary indicators and 7 tertiary indicators.And using the index system we evaluatedthe agro-technique extension performance of Red Sorghum Professional Cooperatives.The evaluation results showed that from 2012 to 2014, extension performance levels in Shuangyushu town Red Sorghum Professional Cooperatives experienced an increasing trend in recently years, and overall performance level was slightly high.Furthermore, Tobit regression model was constructed to analyze main factors affecting agro-technique extension performance of the red sorghum professional cooperatives.This model included eight factors influencing variables such as extension methods, extension expenditure, farmers’ learning ability, scientific research cooperation, the government policy support and financial support. Regression model analysis results showed that cooperative agro-technique extension performance was significantly affected by the cooperative extension capital, the area of the farmers grow sorghum, the external environment, the satisfaction of working environment and the working position inside the cooperative.Finally, the countermeasures of improving extension performance of the Red Sorghum Professional Cooperatives were put forward, including: widening the channel of the introduction of funds, improving the budget management system, enlarging the scale of peasant household land management, strengthening the government’s policy support, strengthening the cooperation with scientific research institutions,improving agricultural extension working environment, improving agricultural technology personnel job status in the cooperative, etc.
