China has made great achievements in foreign trade. The trade scale expands rapidly and China plays a big role in world economy nowadays. However, the foreign trade growth for a long time is based on extensive and low efficient growth model. Seeking the method for transformation of foreign trade growth mode is an important issue in China. With the trade development bottlenecks, a new foreign trade mode evolves. By the end of 2012, the General Administration of Customs officially launched the cross-border e-commerce pilot work. The development of cross-border ecommerce is taken as an important strategy for upgrading of foreign trade. The question that how the cross-border ecommerce make an influence on the foreign trade is the focus of this paper.The paper discusses the transition mechanism of China’s foreign trade growth mode in the view of cross-border e-commerce. The object of this paper is the foreign trade growth in exports. Research idea is as follows. Firstly, making a definition of foreign trade growth mode and the transformation of foreign trade growth model, and then make a study on the main factors that promote the transformation of foreign trade growth model by the investigation of current researches. Thirdly according to the definition and the economic characteristics of cross-border e-commerce, the paper finds the mechanism of cross-border electronic commerce to change the growth mode of foreign trade. Accordingly, the main contents of this paper are as follows:1. The paper constructs a conceptual model of the transformation of foreign trade growth mode, which shows the factors that promote the transformation. And the model is based on the concept, theory and economic influence of transformation of foreign trade. The basic conclusion is drawn:the export trade structure, export competitiveness and value-added space are three key factors that determine the foreign trade growth mode. And the Optimization of export trade structure, export competitiveness, value-added space expansion will promote the transformation of foreign trade growth mode.2. The paper makes a detailed analysis of the mechanism of promoting cross-border electronic commerce to change the growth mode of foreign trade. The study of mechanism was based on the theoretical framework of change in the growth mode of foreign trade. The paper make a deep analysis of the economic characteristics of cross-border e-commerce and compares the difference of traditional trade mode and the new one. After that, it draws the conclusion as follows:firstly, cross-border ecommerce will promote the export trade structure and foreign trade growth mode; secondly, it will promotes the development of international marketing channels so that our country’s exporting enterprises can obtain more profits, and controls value chain of products by themselves. This also increases the export efficiency and enhances the competitiveness. Thirdly, cross-border e-commerce will improve the efficiency of market transactions by lowering the transaction costs and promoting industrial agglomeration effect, and driven the development of the industry. Finally, the long tail phenomenon and the brand strategy will promote the differentiation characteristics of export products, which will be of great significance to enhance the competitiveness of a country.3. Finally, the paper suggests that for the purpose of promoting transformation of foreign trade mode, it is of great significance to promote the development of cross-border e-commerce in China. The recommendations are put forward after study the situation.
