For state-owned foreign trade company, the business personnel is the core strength of its competition in the market. But faced with the further development of the market economy and the reform of international trade, the monopoly of state-owned foreign trade company has ceased to exist. Many foreign and private foreign trade companies have been "settled down" in China, and continuously expand the scope of their business. Their incentive mechanism greatly attracted many talents in state-owned foreign trade company, leading to attract and encourage business people to create a better performance has become a business imperative in state-owned foreign trade. As a foreign trade company in the pharmaceutical industry, MC foreign trade companies is also facing a sharp drop in pharmaceutical import and export business, and increasingly narrow issues of survival and development space in addition to business personnel issues. So it is urgent to motivate business, expand the company’s business and create a better performance.In order to optimize the design of incentives for business people in MC foreign company, firstly this paper summarize the domestic and international research on employee motivation issues, and take the relevant incentive theory and salary application theory as the theoretical basis of this paper; Secondly, combined with background information of MC foreign trade company, this paper conducted a questionnaire survey to analyze the current incentive situation of business personnel and to identify existing problems of MC foreign trade companies’incentive mechanism through comparative analysis; Finally, for these incentive problems, this paper combine with relative theory and business practice, trying to optimize the design of MC foreign trade company’s performance appraisal system, salary management system and proposed safeguards to build a new business incentives for MC foreign trade company.After investigation and analysis, this paper believed that incentive mechanism of MC foreign trade business personnel needs to be optimized from the following aspects:In performance appraisal, MC should join the two types of indicators internal processes and employee growth based BCS, in order to give a comprehensive assessment of business personnel performance, and effectively use the results of performance appraisal to payroll, position adjustment, training program development. Salary structure is based on total compensation, focus on adjustment performance pay, non-monetary external pay and internal pay elements. MC also should comprehensively build an effective incentive mechanism for MC foreign trade business personnel through the construction of company culture and effective business team, leadership support, systems safeguards.
