No first-class products can be produced without skillful operative personnel. As a super country in manufacture industry, China’s advanced scientific and technological achievements need to be transferred into productive forces by the skilled operative personnel. The Chinese manufacturing enterprises are aiming at the rapid improvementof theirkey competitiveness, the products quality and the industrial restructuring. This raises higher demand on skills training for the operative personnel.JS Company is one of the traditional state-owned manufacturing enterprises. Conforming to the general trend of the Comprehensively Deepening Reforms,JS Company carries out the industrial restructuring and introduces advanced CNC machining equipment, which continuously improves its market adaptability and the products quality. Its former high volume manufacturing with single variety products has been gradually replaced by the high-mix/low-volume manufacturing, which raises higher demand on the skills of the operative personnel. With a total of 150, the group of the machining center operator of JS Company could not meet the demand of its manufacturing switching and the NC programming, because of their age structure, simple skills and weak learning ability. The advanced CNC machining equipment are not fully utilized, which causes resources wasting, low production efficiency and high labor cost.With the careful survey of skills training, this thesis takes the machining center operator of JS Company as the research sample and focuses on the problems in the machining center operators’ skills training: First, the training satisfaction should be increased; Second, the training needs survey is insufficient; Third, the operators are lack of learning motivations. This thesis puts forward suggestions that the machining center operators should become very active in their skills training. The enterprise should value the skills training and build an effective restriction mechanism.Through this study, the author hopes to find the way to improve the skills training of JS Company and bring some inspirations for the other manufacturing enterprises.
