Since China take part in the WTO, Chinese economy links with the worldeconomy. The world financial crisis erupted in2008brought great impact to theglobal economy, the uncertainty of external environment change brings increased thedifficulty of the enterprise management. In such a growing environment, enterprisesmust change management mode to achieve sustainable development. Establish ascientific system of production and operation performance is the important content ofmanagement model. To strengthen the examination of production and operationperformance not only can effectively improve enterprise core competitiveness,achieve the strategic goals of the enterprise, and to improve the enterpriseperformance has the effect that cannot ignore. Therefore, how to within the powergeneration enterprise group to build a scientific and systematic performanceevaluation system, to implement the economic responsibility system, improve themanagement benefit, establish and improve the incentive constraints mechanism,improve the management level has played a positive role in promoting.This paper regards the performance appraisal improvement of GuangdongYuehua Power Co., Ltd as the research object. By using literature study, this paperfirstly describes the origin and development of performance appraisal system,introduces some popular performance appraisal tools and methodologies, and analyzesthe status quo of performance appraisal system of power companies. Then, itintroduces the development history and performance appraisal management status ofYuehua Power Company, and discusses the major problems in performance appraisal.After describing the ideas and principles of performance appraisal improvement, thispaper introduces the change in performance appraisal index design. Finally, this paperintroduces the obstacles encountered and the measures taken by Yuehua Company inperformance appraisal improvement, and compares the company operation statusbefore and after the implementation performance appraisal improvement.
