Research On Core Banking System Productization & Implementation

Core Banking System is the most critical IT system in the bank, which is be regarded as the heart of the Bank. In recent years, in order to cope with the international competition, financial reform and business transformation, more and more banks turned to upgrade their Core Banking System. During 2010-2015, two Chinese policy Banks, five state-owned Banks and about twenty city commercial Banks upgraded their core systems.But because the business planning as well as the system status of each bank is different, which makes it very difficult to standardize the core banking system. Some core systems are provied by vendor, some are developed by themselves, so they may use different technology, deployed in different platforms, that means the reuse degree is low, or in other words, costly.This paper mainly studies the productization of the core banking system and come up with an effective core banking system productization plan, which makes the system configurable, reusable and less customization. In this way we can shorten the development cycle, reduce the risk of implementation, improve the system quality and save the cost.This paper studies the core banking system cases in China and abroad, look into the business & technical requirements which helps to clarify the high level requirements. Then based on the requirements, this paper suggest a system architecture and get it tested.
