Research On College Students’ Network Academic Information Retrieval Behavior

In the knowledge society, with the advancement of the national “Internet +” program, the Internet is having an increasingly profound impact on the whole society. Network academic information is growing in a geometric form, and the dependence of the network platform on the university students’ acquisition of the academic information is gradually enhanced. However, for the quality of resource is mixed with some drawbacks, college students’ information literacy and retrieval ability is not high, and all this makes it difficult to fully and accurately retrieve the academic information they need. Therefore, it is very important to explore the behavior characteristics and influencing factors of contemporary college students who use the network platform to retrieve academic information, and to put forward some specific suggestions and strategies.Through the method of literature research, this research firstly sorts out and analyses the relevant theories about academic information, network academics information, information behavior, information searching behavior, and gives a definition of network academic information researching behavior. Secondly, a questionnaire is designed to release the recycling and processing, and to summarize the general rules of academic information researching of college students, in order to provide a basis for influencing factors in analyzing the retrieval behavior based on experiment. Thirdly, the experimental study of the researching behavior of network academic information of college students can help determine the experimental tool, the experimental task, the recruitment of subjects to start the experiment by setting an experimental hypothesis. By analyzing the data obtained from the experiment, it summarizes the behavior characteristics of college students in retrieving different types of academic information, the behavior characteristics and rules of the network academic information during the process of researching. Then, based on the experimental study, it analyzes the searching process for different types of academic information, summarizes and reorganizes an order process which is interconnected, constructs a researching process model of network academic information, and analyzes the influencing factors of College Students’ retrieval behavior of network academic information combining the experiment, the questionnaire and the interview.The main conclusions of this study are:(1) The model of retrieval process of network academic information includes three stages: task derivation and academic information demand, academic information searching and selection, academic information acquisition and feedback;(2) There is certain difference between college students in the behavior of searching books, journal papers, conference papers, academic papers, other strong academic electronic resources, annual academic conference, associations, forums, websites and other dynamic academic information.(3) In the network academic information retrieval process, college students of each specific link have certain behavior characteristics or laws.(4) The influencing factors of the university students’ retrieval behavior of network academic information can mainly be divided into three aspects, the main factors, the information environment factors and other factors. Last, suggestions are put forward from three aspects to improve the information literacy of college students, to enhance the information retrieval ability of college students and to improve the environment of network academic information resources.
