Shooting training is essential to the SWAT team and is one of the most important training subjects. To improve the actual combat ability of SWAT team, we need various shooting training equipment with target systems controller, which is the core of them. The SWAT team belonging to Guangzhou municipal public security bureau is equipped with shooting training equipment that purchased in 2007, including side-turn target systems and up-down target systems. At that time the supplementary controller functions are simple, we can only set the implicit target and target time; and, we are unable to set random targets. Also, the target displays module’s function is simple: there is no real time displaying; also lacking of man-machine interactive experience; this can’t meet the demand of the shooting training at the present stage.Considering the need for actual combat and training, we have designed and implemented target systems controller according to software engineering method and analysis of relating technologies. The widely popular Android mobile platform and Arduino singlechip are used as the hardware platform to control target systems, then we conduct target systems controller application development based on the above-mentioned hardware platform.The main focus of this study is to combine Arduino with Android technologies, as well as the use of development tools of AppInventor 2. The ultimate goal is to use AppInventor 2 to develop a set of Smartphone based target systems controller system, which can control target systems and return video of the target in real-time. Thereby it meets the SWAT’s training and examination requirements at the present stage.The innovation of this thesis lies in the combination of android smart terminal with target systems control the existing target systems without replacing them, thus improving the efficiency of shooting training and team effectiveness.
