With the development of technology in the progress of era, more and more new technologies are coming into people’s lives gradually. With the development of modern high-tech, electronic chip technology is more related to our life makes our lives more convenient. Smart phones and personal computers, are all inseparable from the rapid development of electronic chip technology. Recently, a new type of chip development board is emerging in the markets. It’s inexpensive, easy to understand in terms of form,function and diversity. It is also simple and efficient open-source platform, known as Arduino.In this article we conduct analysis on design includes software and hardware development. After comparing with a variety of hardware and software development platform, we find that coupling ability of Arduino and Android are strong, and it is fully in line with current market trends. Therefore, we design a system based on two major open-source platforms named Arduino & Android platform. It uses Arduino platform to build hardware circuit and develop the gateway software. It also uses Android platform for development of mobile client communications software. Besides these, the communication interfaces between hardware of Arduino and software of Android is completed with a standard unified, safe and reliable.After establishing a serial communication between the software and hardware,users can simply send a command to control Arduino hardware circuit to complete the driver of the functional modules on your Android phone. The technology is based communication and control of the Android phone with Google ADK Arduino. It uses Arduino UNO microcontroller as the core to build the hardware environment by combining USB HOST SHIELD module. Then it passes the control commands to the Arduino platform by Android client with a USB protocol. And finally it finishes the communication and control functions between Google ADK-based Android phone and Arduino. It gets a simple system which can use the Android phone to control the lamp light.This design abandoned the traditional disadvantages of artificial manual control household products. It has the advantages of high efficiency, ease to use and contro.
