As one of foundation courses in Art and Design, visual illusion is quite significant for students to avoid the visual error and create novelties in their works. The expositive teaching with static pictures is traditional methodology, which is monotonous, tedious and ineffective. Visual illusion is a very special visual effect in the visual arts, which exists in the forms of plane, stereo, and animation. Meanwhile, it is also often affected by the time, space and view angle, etc. Therefore, it is necessary to demonstrate phenomenon, analyze principle, and broaden imagination, to make sure the students can master and apply these principles very well. With the development of science and technology, it becomes possible to improve teaching effects through an interactive visual illusion platform based on virtual reality and three-dimensional interaction.This thesis focuses on the design and application of visual illusion teaching platform, based on Unity3 D digital three-dimensional interaction technologies. This kind of platform is constructed by the 3D virtual scenes and the contradictory space built in 3Dmax, the virtual roaming and interactions realized by Unity3 D, and the other digital media technologies.We applied this so-called “3D Interactive Visual Illusion Teaching System” in classroom teaching, and verified the effects. The results showed that this platform can effectively help students to better understand and application visual illusion. The system performance of the software also passed the tests. This platform can be used as the basis for further exploration along with visual illusion teaching.
