Books as the carrier of information, is an important channel for the dissemination of culture and knowledge. With the accelerating pace of China’s modernization construction, the production, scientific research and teaching of china all need to learn the world’s advanced science and technology from import foreign books, in addition the construction of "O ne Belt and O ne Road " provides a new opportunity for our books trade development. In recent years, the competition of China books trade industry is growing. With the rapid develop ment of digital publishing technology, the digital publications have a certain impact on the books trade in china. Facing the opportunities and challenges from the external environment and industry competition environment changes for Beijing Publications I mport & Export Corporation, current competitive strategy of the corporation is no longer applicable. If the Beijing Publications Import & Export Corporation can timely and accurately adjusts its competitive strategy is the key to face the future challenges and achieve competitive advantage.Beijing Publications Import & Export Corporation is a state-owned cultural enterprise and founded in 1985, specializing in the import and export business approved by National Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations and Trade. At present, the books trade accounting for more than 90% of all its business is the corporation’s main business, so this paper selects the books trade of this corporation as the research object. Firstly, introduces the development status and existing competition strategies of Beijing Publications Import & Export Corporation, and puts forward the necessity and importance of its competitive strategy transformation. Secondly, use PEST analysis method analysis the external macro environment of Beijing Publications Import & Export Corporation, use the Potter’s five forces model and multiple regression model analysis the corporation’s business environment, and also analysis the corporation’s internal environment from the aspects of internal resources, corporation’s abilities and also analyses the internal and external value chain of this corporation. Thirdly, it uses the grey correlation analysis based on AHP analysis the competitive factors of Beijing Publications Import & Export Corporation, combined with the results of empirical research analysis the applicability of the three basic competitive strategy of this corporation, select the differential competitive strategy as the corporation’s future competitive strategy. Finally, clear the competitive strategy target, specific competitive strategy as well as the security system of competition strategy implementation.This paper conducted the deep and thorough studies on the internal and external environment of Beijing Publications Import & Export Corporation based on the theory of competitive strategy. Combined with the current strategic background and the corporation’s resources and capabilities, by choosing the suitable competition strategy and strategic measures to realize its unique competitive advantage in t he future competition in the books trade industry.
