Activated carbon is a functional carbon material. It has a developed pore,a huge surface area and a powerful adsorption properties. In the industry of solvents and waste recycling, air purification and water treatment,in has a wide range of applications. Activated carbon’s demanding is increasing year by year with the development of society and people’s attention to the living environment. In order to improve the activated carbon’s production efficiency, reduce production, we should improve the production technology, to study the fully automated production equipment. On the basis of the overall control scheme, implementation of the system program, according to the characteristics of the controlled objects, we developed a automation control system in the shape into the production process of activated carbon mixed type. We use the SIEMENS S7-200 PLC as the main controller, electronic weighing instruments as the secondary controller, IPC and MCGS software as a host computer. To achieving the communication from the PLC to electronic weighing instruments,we using the MODBUS protocol. The relay feedback self-tuning of PID algorithm is using in the tar’s temperature controlling system. To simulate the tar’s temperature controlling system, we use the software of simulink.MCGS software exploitation monitoring system for real-time monitoring of process parameters on the temperature and pulverized coal tar, tar, water weight and centralized management. And production data to be stored, ready to query the system working conditions to facilitate the enterprise management. Image visual, intuitive, and accurately reflects the true situation of the production site.
