Through detail analysis from levels of policies, economies and culture, it comes out that there are three steps during the period: filling hope, modeling the past and expecting commercialization. Benefit from that, it is expected to manage the relationship between different periods of development of Chinese rock subculture and mainstream culture represented by Southern Weekend through a diachronic perspective, which turns out to be positive interactions, alienations within interactions and commercial incorporations.Through the analysis of this paper, it is believed that the relationship between the mainstream culture and rock subculture is not static or rigid, nor is it privative, but showing a diverse cultural relations with the time goes on, which will definitely enlighten us for better understanding the relationships between mainstream culture and subculture like rock as well as others.
