James· W · Carey put forward "a ritual view of communication", pushed the communication studies to cultural studies. Different from "a transmission view of communication", "a ritual view of communication" is beyond power control and effects research. Based on the idea of Carey, Rothenbuhler put forward the "ritual communication"."Ritual communication" contains the following contents:the ritualized of communication; the rituality content of communication; the ritualized of media contact. This paper holds that the communication of new media deconstructs the ritualized communication of traditional media, it is the de-ritualized communication. In the perspective of media, digitization media has nonlinear time and virtual space,it breaks the certain space-time of ritualized communication. In the perspective of contents, hypertext makes the content fragmentize, it breaks the fixed routine of ritualized communication. In the perspective of the audience, new media empowers citizens to express themselves freely, cleans the symbolic meaning of ritualized communication. The de-ritualized communication of new media breaks the boundaries of media/non-media, constructs the "global village" where everyone can participate in. But, new media is not restricted by the laws of physics and space-time, it promotes cultural hegemonism. Printing culture pays close attention to words, on the contrary, network information pays more attention to images. Meanwhile, we must maintain sharp vigilance against the tendency of re-ritualization, make the mass be more independent-minded.
