PACS system is the information of medical images without the realization of the tablets and the network management, in order to solve the problems of medical image acquisition, display, storage, transmission and management, PACS for various types of medical images management system has also been in the hospital is widely used, it has become the construction of digital hospital is one of the essential elements and the basically modernized hospital, one of the symbols. Therefore, how to use the medical image management system to manage the hospital image information has gradually aroused the attention of everyone.This paper describes the PACS follow the medical digital image standards and communication DICOM standard, analysis of the PACS system construction requirements, the application of PACS, the workflow will be improved, the whole process of electronic operation. Picture archiving and communication system(PACS) has great significance to establish the medical ima ge management and disease diagnosis. It realizes the no film electronic medical image management, to solve the problems in storage, transmission, retrieval and use of the rapid increase of medical imaging. The functional requirements of PACS system is to m eet the diagnostic radiology department and support all clinical departments of a hospital image browsing, improve the comprehensive management level of hospital image.This topic will detail the medical image storage and management system research and development of related technologies, design and implementation of the project application.
