With the rapid popularization and development of the software and hardware of computer technology, mankind has entered a rapid development of the information age. In scientific research and technology applications, image processing technology is increasingly becoming an indispensable tool in all areas.Image interpolation, which belongs to image enhancement technology, is the most common application of digital image processing technology. A simpler and more accurate image output can be got through enlarge image processing technology. Picture in Picture feature is different pictures display in different positions in a monitor. This technology is commonly used in TVs, monitors and other display technology. And it is used to screen contrast and different screen monitor.Digital image processing was realized by software in the PC before.But with the rapid development of semiconductor technology, as well as LSI, VLSI integrated circuits and applications in the emergence of a technical basis, applied to Digital circuits with processing speed of integrated circuits into a geometric-fold increase, the use of special devices and chip platform for digital image processing becomes possible. Higher performance, lower price is very suitable for FPGA chip, the field of digital image processing applications. FPGA with scalable, dynamically reconfigurable and other features makes the use of FPGA chip image processing with greater flexibility and higher performance.This issue is based on FPGA implementation of digital image processing areas. The FPGA as the core of digital image processing system to the way hardware and software work together to implement a digital image processing of SOPC system. The system implemented in hardware zoom image enhancement, while a software way to achieve the picture in picture display, realized the interpolated enlarged image enhancement algorithms, when implemented in the display screen contrast of different functions. By designing a complete digital image processing system and system of the relevant functional modules required to realize complex digital image processing algorithms on the FPGA implementation of practical significance.This article first digital image enhancement technology in the amplification of several common interpolation algorithm was introduced, according to the characteristics of their own FPGA hardware implementation of the algorithm to do the hardware module design, and display output, etc. The system must function module design. Then SOPC system software and hardware design process, were carried out to build the hardware platform, and the NiosⅡIDE in the software design of the system, focusing on the completion of the PIP function of the realization. Finally, the system debugging output on the basis of comparing the results to get the final conclusion. Throughout the design process, digital image processing algorithms in-depth research on the development of FPGA design knowledge with a comprehensive grasp.
