With the fast-developing Internet of things (IoT) technology, researches on IoT application become more and more sufficient, however, researches on IoT theory are lagging. IoT resources modeling is based on IoT resources classification. And it also contributes to researching other resources problems in theory. It is necessary to research on IoT resources classification and IoT resources modeling which can promote the development of IoT resources theoretical researches.By analyzing the current status of IoT resources classification and IoT resources modeling, we focus on unified and standardized researches. For IoT resources classification, this paper proposes the hierarchy-structure model of IoT resources from a whole perspective. The model is based on the IoT system structure. Then we describe functions in each level. According to these descriptions, we propose the system-structure model of IoT resources, which classifies IoT resources. It is convenient to describe resources properties and relationships. Ontology can describe concepts. It can make possible communicate with individuals who have different backgrounds. Computer language encodes these concepts to simulate some services. So we establish IoT resources standardized model by using ontology. Based on the system-structure model of IoT resources, we describe resources properties in ways of structural composition and function. We also describe resources relationships. These are the first-step of the method. According to the seven-step method and the domain ontology method, we propose the ontology method which is appropriate for IoT resources. We establish the IoT resources standardized modeling based on the method. Then we experiment it by Protege. Finally, we apply the IoT resources standardized modeling and the IoT resources system structure into the intellectual inventory field. They can be applied very well.
