| In our country, "frontier" has a specific history cultural environment that has given rich connotation. Border areas as an important component of the national territory, its importance is self-evident naturally. Frontier situation is important for social stability and long-term stability of the country. Border area, in recent years, appearing a series of events of the violent crime and Tibet, Xinjiang ethnic separatists, extreme illegal religion and terrorism, create a series of violent crime, all of these remind us that we should pay more attention to the development situation of border areas. At the same time, putting forward along with the national "neighborhood" policy, the border areas and the frontier problem was placed in the perspective of the public again, the frontier of politics, economy, culture, social development and the future become the focus of widespread attention.This article attempts to take the perspective of media to clarify the status of the frontier region from 1946 to 1949, due to the special geographical location conditions of frontier and more and more frequent events in recent years of frontier areas, the public understanding of the frontier is not very comprehensive, which requires the media in the public’s understanding of frontier play a role in daily life. Media reports of events or weaken on type will affect the audience’s perception of news events. He Zihua talked about that the media has created a new operation mode of public opinion, its high efficiency, wide range, the power is strong, is any operation methods are difficult to compare with public opinion. Because of the media in the dominant position of supervision by public opinion activity has been commonly agreed in social, therefore, the public opinion formation, function and effect of modern society cannot leave the media that the "initiator", "amplifier" and "booster". And border areas away from the country’s political and economic center, with fewer daily lives of most people contact. At present, the information we obtain border areas mainly through the media news reports, this is the most convenient way to understand the status of the frontier. Therefore, from the perspective of media found that frontier, know the frontier, research frontier has become inevitable.《Ta Kung Pao》 and 《People’s Daily》has broad audience basis, this thesis based on the 《Ta Kung Pao》 and 《People’s Daily》 news reports about the frontier as the research object from 1946 to 1949, from the political,economic, cultural, social life and so on various aspects to construct the image of frontier to examine the media and comprehensive analysis the 《Ta Kung Pao》 and 《People’s Daily》 reported border condition, compare the similarities and differences between the two newspapers on the frontier reports, induce and summarize the experience of frontier reports. The purpose of this study is helping to our country frontier of journalists and frontier news reports under the new media environment.On the research methods, this paper using the data collecting, data statistics and content analysis, case analysis, the quantitative study method and combined with history. Select 《Ta Kung Pao》 and 《People’s Daily》 from 1946 to 1949,including all of the frontier news reports as the research sample, carrying on the thorough analysis.
