In no wadays,between country and country, the communication is becoming more and more frequently.If a country wants to get a bigger development,it has to participate into the development of globalization. National image is one of the important factors which can determine whether a country can obtain the international competition advantage.Therefore, shaping a good image becomes important.When you shape a country’s national image,spreading its culture and value is the point.You must through the cultural identity to obtain a good national image.In recent years,South Korea is the model which has successfully created a good international image by spreading its culture and value to the world.So the question is what kind of culture does South Korea spreading? Starting in the 90s,South Korean TV series began to spread in China.At that time,South Korean TV series has brought a huge impact on Chinese audience.Chinese audience attracted by the TV series.becourse of the TV series,Korean and south Korean clothing becomes populer in China.This is the first wave of "Hallyu phenomena".Until after the 2000,South Korean singer and idol group as the second Korean wave of "Hallyu phenomena"comes into China.Then,Sou-th Korea music becomes populer.The third wave of "Hallyu phenomena"is around 2012.Represented by variety show.Because of its funny,entertaining and authenticity, south Korean becomes populer In the young audience very quickly. "Hallyu phenome-na" has experienced for ten years.It has not become relics, but more and more popular.Therefore,what kind of culture does South Korea spreading? The answer is popular culture.The south Korean government use TV dramas, music and variety show to create its national image.For example,family living conditions,customs,diet, clothing,history,tradition and the country’s social development that revealed by series of popular culture products.So the second question is what kind of national image does south Korean created? In recent years,Chinese people showed an unprecedented degree of goodwill and enthusiasm with South Korea landscape,electronic products, South Korea apparel, Korean food, Korean cosmetics, and even koreans appearance. So you can prove that Chinese pepoles’impression of Korea is very good.But in China, the national image of the shape is not imagined success.Not because China is not good at shaping the image of the country, but the two countries used the way, the method is different.In recent ten years,researching of Korean dramas and music has did a lot.Therefore, this article mainly selects the South Korean variety show as the research object.Analysising and summaring its cross cultural communication methods and effects. Exploring the role and rationality of Korean variety show that shaping national image.In order to provide a theoretical basis for the variety shows which can creat the national image.providing a reference for our country to build the national image.The research of this paper is divided into five sections.The first part is mainly to sort out the literature.On the one hand, to prepare for the study.on the other hand,to Find research point.The second part elaborates the definition.review the history of Korean national image and discuss the relationship between Korean variety shows and Korean national image.The third part is the key part of the article.Mainly to analysis how does Korean varietyto shape the image of South Korea. The fourth part analyzes the successful experience and problems of South Korean variety show to shape the national image of South Korea.The fifth part gives advice and reference to Chinese government for how to develop variety shows and shape the image of the country.
